In 2011, after so many years of playing, Rock
Legend "Dangerous Dan Toler" was diagnosed with
with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease).
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) affects the
central nervous system, making it difficult for the
brain's messages to get to muscles.
While his playing has not suffered, his body is now
struggling to keep up. This website is a place for
you, his fans, to get information to help Dan Toler
meet not only his medical bills by participating in
benefit concerts, but also bring attention to what
ALS is and how you can make a difference.
As Lou Gehrig's disease progresses, the brain has
more and more trouble communicating messages to the
muscles in the body. As a result, muscles weaken
and make daily tasks difficult or even
impossible.
For those
living with ALS, many daily tasks become difficult.
Maintaining good health becomes vitally important.
Some medications may provide relief for ALS
symptoms but they leave a lot to be
desired.
